Kate Meinck shares her knowledge and unique approach to food preparation through regular vegetarian cooking classes at Chittering Valley Retreat. Her passion for food flows into the classroom where there is plenty of hands-on learning and delicious food to eat during the course. You will learn some extraordinary tips and tricks and be surprised how easy it is to eat properly without compromising pleasure or taste.
It is not enough to just eat what we want as our desires for particular foods are often behaviours learnt over time from our cultural and family circumstances or fed to us via the media in the interest of big business rather than our health. Such foods in the marketplace today are not necessarily healthy and usually lack vital nutritional content.
Kate believes educating people with the practical skills of food preparation is an integral part of relating to and understanding food. Combining this with an appreciation of our own personal relationship to food brings about a much deeper level of understanding – a natural intelligence that nurtures, supports and energises the body back to its instinct for the correct foods.
In her cooking classes Kate focuses on the need to bring about change in our relationship with food, the way we eat and why the right approach is essential for health and wellbeing.
